Gem of the Week ~ Wedding Packages from £1,995.00!

This week it is my pleasure to introduce you to Nicky Bennewith, the lady responsible for organising beautiful weddings at The Tally Ho Hotel, in Oxfordshire.  This pretty Wedding Venue, was one of the first that I worked with after launching Ice The Cake and in December 2011, I had the pleasure of attending the hotel, as a guest at my friend’s wedding.  Today I am delighted to say that Nicky has found time in her busy schedule to share some more information about getting married at this intimate wedding venue.

When did you start offering weddings? 
The Tally Ho is a converted 19th century farm house situated in the Oxfordshire countryside.  It first opened as a Hotel in 2002 and we held our first wedding in 2005.

What services do you provide?
When you book a wedding with us you have exclusive use of the hotel and gardens. You also have twenty six bedrooms on site which you can hold for your wedding guests, enabling you have a weekend with your family all in one place. For the weddings everything provided in the packages are in house,  if there is any additional extras we have a number of local suppliers that we put our brides in touch with.  We host open weekends and event evenings to give brides a chance to meet them and discuss ideas.

What is included within your wedding packages?
We offer a range of different wedding packages to try to accommodate everyone; whether you are looking for a traditional sit down wedding breakfast or a summer evening BBQ and hog roast.

Our prices currently range from £1,995 for our Starlight Packages to £6,995 for the Ultimate Wedding Packages.  We also offer bespoke packages as we know some people like things slightly different. We have made our packages as straightforward as we can, letting you know everything that is included within the price so you don’t have to try and sit to work everything out.

What has been your biggest achievement?
To have gone from one wedding in its first year to 35 weddings so far in 2013, with our biggest one for a 120 sit down later this year.

What do you love about weddings?
The happiness and joy that is brings to everyone, It’s great to part of a Bride and Grooms special day and to have known you have played a part in giving them what they have dreamt of. Although a wedding is a long day, our fantastic team of staff are always upbeat as the environment is so friendly and exciting. (We are also a sucker for sparkles and pretty elements!).

Who inspires you?
The brides are a great inspiration to us, bringing in new ideas and excitement to the venue.  Our local suppliers are also a great inspiration and we really enjoy working closely with them to support the local community and put together new ideas.

What is your pearl of wisdom for a Bride to Be planning her wedding day?
To just enjoy it! With all of the planning and the lead up, the day is over so quickly, so take it all in and try to relax, that’s why I am here!

Tell us a Secret!
We have just had our brand new bandstand built within the grounds, which means couples can now get married outdoors!

What is you favourite flavour Wedding Cake?
One of bride and grooms got married in Las Vegas and held their wedding reception with us, they had a really relaxed and fun evening with a cocktail bar and Ferrero Rocher trees as centre pieces. But their wedding cake was a number of rainbow sponge cupcakes, which not only looked fantastic but tasted beautiful!

What trends have you seen for 2013?
We have had a huge number of weddings with a purple colour scheme this year and a growth in the number of optional extras from face painting, to ice cream vans and bumper cars!

A Note from Nicky…
We always try to go that extra mile, whether its smoothing out your dress as you start to walk down the aisle, sewing up a suit minutes before the ceremony or rocking a pushchair whilst the parents are in the ceremony… the Bride and Groom become part of the Tally Ho Hotel family!
