Inspiration ~ Wedding Magic At Nether Winchendon House

Earlier in the year I had the pleasure of visiting a stunning Buckinghamshire Wedding Venue, Nether Winchendon House.  I was in awe of the history of the venue and the absolutely beautiful grounds, but what made it even more special was the warm welcome I received from Georgianna Spencer Bernard, the owner of this historic family home.

Georgianna and her family are knowledgeable, supportive and to host your wedding there must be an absolute delight.  So when I was asked to organise a styled photo shoot at this venue, I wanted to capture all that encompassed this magical family home.  I started putting together an inspiration board and it soon became apparent that I was being inspired by warmth and the prettiness of the venue.  So I made the decision to plan the shoot around the children at a wedding.

Ice The Cake is all about inspiration and I am lucky to work with some truly incredible Wedding Suppliers, so after showing them my ideas, I was able to trust the team to create something magical.

As soon as I discussed the vision with Wedding Photographer Wendy Grant she was as excited as I was.  We visited the venue together and our vision for the shoot began it’s magical journey.

Wendy is a true professional and I knew that she would capture the most breath-taking images on the day, but also, would encompass the innocence of the children exploring this amazing family home.

Melissa Woodland of Melissa Woodland Cakes, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, created the most beautiful wedding cake, with intricate detailing, incorporating lace and ribbon together with stunning handmade sugar flowers.

Melissa regularly works with The Sweet Stylist, and what could be more perfect for children at a wedding than sweets?  Laura Atkinson, owner of the company organised a beautiful sweet buffet of yummy treats and luckily there were a few extras left over on the day for us ‘big kids’ to eat too!

When choosing the Bridal Gowns and Bridesmaid dresses I knew there was only one person I wanted to showcase.  Estilo Moda is a couture wedding dress design company based in Milton Keynes.  Omo, the incredible talent behind the company, has created so many wedding dresses that I absolutely adore, so I was delighted to be able to finally include them in a styled bridal shoot.

The Flowergirl dress was provided by Confetti Bridalwear, a lovely Bridal Boutique located in Tring, Hertfordshire.

No Bride would be complete without some sparkly hair accessories and some beautiful flowers to hold.  The tiaras were provided by the lovely Liza from Princess Conchetta.  We chose larger pieces, with plenty of pearls and crystals, to create a statuesque look.  With classically styled hair created by Harriet Bartley Freelance Stylist and make up from Feel Beautiful, both based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

The wedding flowers were created by RHS Young Florist of the Year Finalist, Emma Newman, owner of Signature Flowers based in Quainton, Buckinghamshire.  Emma created a gorgeous floral wand for our Flowergirl to wave her magic, together with beautiful bridal bouquets, centrepieces and a breathtaking urn.

We continued the theme of ribbons and lace throughout the wedding stationery.  I wanted to create an element of movement and the products that Kathryn Deeley Wedding Stationery designed ensured that the magical prettiness of the shoot was realised.

No enchanting wedding would be complete without music and we are lucky enough to have Cheryl and John from Ariella Strings to join us on the day.

The day was captured by the very talented Wendy Grant, who’s professionalism ensured the day ran perfectly.

I hope you enjoy the images.
