On Saturday 9th November 2013, I was excited to visit a Wedding fair with a difference. Based in Quainton, Buckinghamshire is the magical Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. Set within 25 acres of Buckinghamshire countryside, the centre boasts one of the largest private collections of locomotives and carriages in the UK. Visitors are instantly transported back in time and with the station originating in 1851 it is a true vintage affair and a perfect wedding venue for so many reasons.
Whether you are train enthusiasts or not, you cannot fail to fall in love with the ambience of the venue. Your guests will be delighted by the unique backdrop and what’s more you can even go on a working steam train to celebrate your wedding day!
It is a true photographers paradise and you are sure to come away with some spectacular images of your special day. So who did we find exhibiting at the fayre?…
Nigel Crump Photography
Nigel is lovely, extremely talented and a true professional. However, I am forever saying that Photographers need to show their personality so it was great to capture him having fun on the day 🙂 – my iPad images do not do his work justice!
It was so lovely to meet the ladies from Sweet Dreams Lingerie. They are so lovely and really passionate about providing beautiful, high quality, Bridal lingerie. In addition, they also sell Nightwear and Swimwear enabling you to purchase your entire wedding wardrobe in one easy step.
Visitors to the fayre were take back in time by the ambient sounds of the lovely David Young, musician. David’s repertoire includes everything from the original 1920’s ‘Charleston’ to Tony Christie & Peter Kay’s ‘Is This The Way to Amarillo?’ – sure to bring a smile to your guests faces!
Signature Flowers by Emma Newman
Emma’s stand was beautiful (as always). She had a new selection of accessories on display, including metal hearts, beautiful little pot plants as well as gorgeous posy bouquets and centrepieces.
The Waddesdon Deli Company
A delicious array of treats were available to try from lovely Sandy Bullivant, Owner of The Waddesdon Deli Company. Including Pimms Mini Jelly Shots and some scrumptious homemade sausage rolls! Plus my favourite – Smoked Salmon Canapes. I cannot wait for an opportunity to visit their Tea Rooms in Westcott, Buckinghamshire. I also just have to note their tagline which I love ‘Fab Food! Jolly Nice Staff!’ ~ it’s absolutely accurate.
Finally, just before leaving the Mini and Midi Cakes had some fun in the photobooth. Please excuse my photo of a photo!
