Giving us the inside scoop on their business this week is Julia Russett from Robins Flowers. With floristry surrounding her as a child, it’s not surprising that she’s got the flower bug!
When did you launch?
We launched bouquets for Brides in 2007 specialising in solely wedding work and from there the business grew to Robins Flowers in 2012.
Where are you based?
We are based just outside the market town of Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Where did the inspiration come from?
Both my parents are florists and own a florist shop in Cornwall, I was just 6 years old when the business started and I have watch them over the years provide many stunning displays, so my parents are my inspiration.
What did you do before running your business?
I was an Area Sales Manager for an equestrian company.
What services do you offer?
Weddings, Events, Gifts, Sympathy, Corporate, Hire and Floral Jewellery.
What has been your biggest achievement?
Gaining my level four in floristry.
What do you love about weddings?
I love the fact that every wedding is unique and personal to the bride and groom. On the actual day the thing I most look forward to is handing the bride her bouquet and seeing her face light up.
Who inspires you?
My parents 🙂
What is your pearl of wisdom for a Bride to Be planning her wedding day?
Make sure you set aside at least 10 minutes per hour to spend with your new husband, the day goes so quickly, before you know it, the day comes to an end and you have not seen each other.
Tell us a secret?
I once stole a penny sweet from our corner shop!
What is your favourite flower or bouquet combination?
My favourite flower is a peony.
What trends did you see in 2013 and what do you think is in store for 2014?
In 2013 I would say the trend was most definitely the colour purple and for style it was vintage, for 2014 I am seeing a return of the traditional shower bouquet.
