‘A Week in the Life of… Accessories’ with Energise Weddings – Day 4

Animal Jewellery

At Energise Weddings we are both dog lovers.  Recently we were talking to a bride about people who take their dogs and horses to their weddings.  Why not?  After all I consider my dog to be one of the family.
This led us to think about accessories for our four legged wedding guests.  They deserve to look their best in the photos too right?  We have started to develop a range of accessories for both dogs and horses.  We have a professional photo shoot arranged soon but here is a sneak peek!
Swarovski and pink ribbon collar
Surf Chick Collar (modelled on my gorgeous girl, Tash):

Our horse range includes browbands, throat lashes, necklaces and saddle cloths.
Rose BrowBand:

Glass bead browband and  necklace:

Love Browband – black leather with Swarovski lettering:

As with all of our products we offer a bespoke design service for our animal jewellery – just get in touch to talk to us about your ideas.
Tomorrow is our last guest blog from the lovely Energise Weddings and the focus will all be about ‘Flower Power’!

‘A Week in the life of… Accessories’ with Energise Weddings – Day 3

Today I have been doing a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party themed photo shoot with my lovely Dad.
I think he thought the whole thing was a bit crazy (maybe it was?) but we had fun!
I was inspired by a lady called Anne Marie from Amphora Vintage and Antiques who I met at a Wedding Fayre in Durham.  Anne Marie used to work as a small business adviser and has a background in the arts.  She now runs a business selling vintage china and glasses. It wasn’t the busiest Wedding Fayre I have ever attended and we spent lots of time discussing marketing and playing around with our stalls which inevitably led to my jewellery being artistically displayed on her cups and saucers!
I’m quite pleased with the results and have several ideas for some more themed shoots, just hope my Dad is up for it!  Keep an eye on our facebook page for photos!

Tomorrow Energise Weddings will be promoting their fantastic new ‘Animal Jewellery’ & no it’s not animal print it’s for your gorgeous 4 legged friends to wear when attending your special day!

Haley Jane Events does Essex Fashion Week 2012…

It may have been over a week ago now but the excitement still remains.  Essex Fashion Week has become an annual highlight for one of our Suppliers Haley Jane Events and they are here with a guest blog today to share their account of this VIP event. Looking at the fun they had all we can say is that we are WELL JEL!…

“Ok, so it’s the morning of Essex Fashion Week 8/4/2012. Yes you guessed it, it’s Easter sunday, So while everyone’s indulging in Easter eggs were making the 2.5 hour trip to CEME Venue where Essex Fashion Week is taking place.

We arrive at CEME In Essex to be greeted by security and the longest red carpet I have ever seen and the huge white board with all well known sponsors including: Amy Childs, HeartFM, Marriot, RM Magazine, boohoo, Cinderella Hair, Wags World, Kosho, Lifestyle 24/7,  Plus many more.

We entered the venue and it looked amazing with a huge white glowing catwalk for all the stunning models to take to and strut their thing!
As everyone was preparing for the opening of Essex Fashion Week. We met with Adam & Simon Ryan and the beautiful Danielle Bigaignon from WE BOP who showed us different areas of where we could set up our Candy Buffet & Candy Tree & colour coordinated pom pom trees, so we opted to set up in the VIP drinks & after party area.

The colour theme was black & silver so we have brought the colour & theme to our candy buffet table. Our flower table centre piece was made by the lovely Kris at Fusion Flowers – Where floral designs come to life.

The atmosphere was amazing & exciting all rolled into one and we were so honoured to be asked to join the event for the 2nd year!

As it was Essex Fashion Week we wanted to incorporate our 5ft candy trees into the fashion theme.

The lovely girls from Love Cupcakes also provided their famous cookies which looked lovely and went down a storm.

Lily Sunshine also provided mini cupcakes, which were yummy!.
Jeff Brazier – The Host of Catwalk and an amazing job he did too
Nanny Pat from ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ Said her grandchildren would love our Candy Buffet …. ha-ha

Rylan from ‘Signed by Katie Price’ He was amazed by our 5ft Fashion Candy Tree & couldn’t believe how many sweets there were in our Candy Buffet

We were delighted when Harry Derbridge from ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ posed for press pictures with our Candy Buffet.

Kirk Norcross from ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ & Big Brother & Sugar Hut. Looking REEM!  He couldn’t believe how heavy our Candy Tree was!

David Van Day & Sue Moxley enjoyed our candy treats for their lunch at Essex Fashion Week.

Such a funny man & Sue Moxley was so lovely after she brought the David over to our Candy Buffet! …. Thank you!

ROMEO from So Solid Crew & Big Brother – Nicest person I have ever met he’s so lovely!

Haley Jane Events ….. ROMEO DONE!

Many celebrities attended the Essex Fashion Week including 2 Shoes, ‘Only Way Is Essex’ Perri Sinclair, Jessica Wright, Billi Muklow, Cara Kilbey, and Lauren Goodger.
Joey Bevan Stylist for Americas & UK Next Top Model.

I also managed to catch up with desperate scouse wives at the After Party

I also supplied our popular pom-pom trees on the tables in the VIP tables ready for the after party also our bespoke 6ft pom-pom trees for each side of the catwalk they are all colour coordinated in black & silver and looked amazing.

So as Essex Fashion Week after party was in full swing and everyone was enjoying themselves with the sounds from Heartless Crew.

Also KIG (Heads, Shoulder, Knees & Toes) was so lovely to watch them perform live and catch up with them.

We managed to catch up with a couple of celebrities who were impressed with our work and loved what we did.  It was also lovely & refreshing to be recognized from celebrities who remembered us from the previous Essex Fashion Week and knew all about us at Haley Jane Events.

A Beautiful Portfolio from Westy Photography

Today we are delighted to introduce the latest incredible Wedding Photographer to join the Ice the Cake Family.  Paul Westy of Westy Photography

Located in Bedford, Bedfordshire, Paul Westlake is an award winning Wedding Photographer with over 20 year experience of capturing the memories that you want. He attends weddings across the UK and beyond to capture your day.

When his gorgeous portfolio of photographs landed on my desk I just had to share them with you…

Introducing… The Wedding Reporter!

The Wedding Reporter is a new bespoke wedding service offering discerning brides and grooms the opportunity to have a literary legacy of their wedding as an additional keepsake of their memories.

So who is ‘The Wedding Reporter’?…
Launched in March 2011 by Emma Woodhouse, The Wedding Reporter evolved from a combined love of writing and a passion for all things matrimonial. After an unprecedented wave of support from the online wedding community about the initial concept, it appeared that the market was ready for someone to go to the wedding frontline and put pen to paper.  In a world now saturated with images, a wedding report offers the chance to stepback from the aesthetic of your wedding day and focus on the action, the atmosphere and the moments you might otherwise forget in due course. A wedding report is an extra layer of texture to the memories of a wedding day.  With a background in fiction and playwriting and training under the National Council for the Training of Journalists, Emma brings a unique style of writing to the transcription of your wedding.
How do you capture the day?
After an initial consultation, The Wedding Reporter will attend whichever elements of the day that the couple chooses for up to 12 hours of coverage. Having absorbed the day firsthand, The Wedding Reporter will then submit the first draft of the report for approval. Following any amendments, the clients will then have full ownership over the final electronic report. They can choose to have the report published in a bespoke booklet professionally created by Golden Apple Designs.

What is your top tip for a stress free wedding?
Keep your eye on the prize. On the night of my wedding, I went to bed with an aching face from smiling so much and a sore tummy from laughing so hard all day long. No one ever tells you that your wedding is THE most fun day, ever. You can’t even imagine it. If I had known that I was going to, quite literally, have the time of my life, I wouldn’t have stressed over missing RSVPs or cufflinks or the specific shade of a petal or anything else in the run up.

Who inspires you?
I’m actually inspired by many of my peers within the wedding industry who all work their sassy little bums off to run independent businesses that they are passionate about. Creatively I’m inspired by all sorts of random people, from James Frey to Grace Coddington, Richard O’Brien to Emily Bronte and a whole cast of weird and wonderful people inbetween. Sycophantically, I’m inspired by my husband and mum who both have ridiculous levels of faith in me and think I can achieve anything that I set my mind to.

What is your greatest achievement?
I’m not sure I’ve made it yet! But leaving a full time job to become a penniless writer and not drowning in the pressure feels pretty momentous.

If you weren’t doing this job what do you think you would be doing?
Conserving Britain’s heritage thanks to my love of romantic ruins and crumbly old buildings.

How do you spend your time when you are not working?
I try really hard to read as I think every good writer has to be a prolific reader, but I also feel obliged to spend time with the man that I married and as reading isn’t really a team sport, we spend our time watching movies and occasionally indulge our love of a great meal at someplace fancy (so long as he’s paying…).
